On the right will be the Garfield Monument which was erected by the Association of General Passenger and Ticket Agents to honor President James A. Garfield, who was shot in a train station in Washington, D.C. on July 2, 1881 and died September 19, 1881. Just after viewing the monument, you will have a view of the Los Pinos river 600 feet below. Here we leave the Toltec Gorge and enter Rock tunnel.
